SkillMethod
Facts to 20 and related factsKnow the facts to 20. Use 3 + 4 = 7 to find 30 + 40 = 70.
OnesAdd or take away the ones. Keep the tens. Make a new ten if the ones go over 10.
TensOnly the tens change. The ones stay the same.
Two two-digit numbersSplit into tens and ones. Add the tens, add the ones, then put them together.
Three one-digit numbersLook for two that make 10 first. Then add the last number.
OrderAddition can be done in any order. Subtraction cannot.
Inverse and missing numbersCheck an addition by taking away. Find a missing number by doing the opposite.
