Silent letters: written, but not said

Year 6
Spell words with silent letters, and say which letter is silent (Y5-6 spelling)
Story. Noah is writing a fact file about a knight from an old story. He spells the word knight carefully, because the k at the start is written, but it is not said.

A silent letter is written in a word, but it is not said. Many silent letters follow a pattern at the start, middle or end of a word. Learn the pattern, and then learn the word.
