SkillMethod
Short multiplicationMultiply column by column from the right, carrying tens: 4,836 × 7 = 33,852.
Long multiplicationMultiply by each digit of the two-digit number, then add the partial products.
Short divisionDivide one digit at a time from the left; the remainder is smaller than the divisor.
Long divisionDivide, multiply, subtract, bring down; the remainder can be a whole number, a fraction or rounded.
Powers of 10×10 moves digits left; ÷10 moves them right; ×100 moves two places; ×1000 moves three.

Equals signBoth sides of the equals sign must have the same value.
