The jump from O Level to A Level surprises most students. The content is deeper, the papers expect more independent thinking, and AS results arrive quickly. A Level grades decide university admissions in Pakistan and abroad, so many families arrange tuition from the start of AS rather than waiting for problems to appear.
Students can take AS papers at the end of the first year and A2 papers at the end of the second, or sit all papers together. Tell the tutor your child's route so lessons are planned around the right papers and dates.
At this level, subject depth matters. Look for tutors who have taught the full A Level syllabus recently, know the current paper structure and can explain how marks are awarded on structured and essay questions. For sciences, ask how they prepare students for practical and planning papers.
Yes. Most A Level tuition is now online, which lets students in any city work with specialist tutors in Lahore, Karachi or Islamabad.
Yes. A Level results are converted to an FSc or Intermediate equivalent through IBCC for admission to Pakistani universities and medical and engineering colleges.
Yes. Many tutors combine A Level teaching with MDCAT, ECAT or SAT preparation. Look for test preparation on their profiles.
