Safety guidelines
We help parents and tutors connect. Tutors operate independently, and lesson arrangements and payments are handled directly between users.
For parents and guardians
- Meet or speak with a tutor before arranging lessons, and trust your judgement.
- For in-person lessons, prefer a public or supervised space, especially at first.
- Do not share your child full name, school, home address, or photographs with someone you have not met.
- Agree fees, schedule, and cancellation terms in writing before you start.
- Be cautious about anyone who pressures you to pay quickly or move the conversation somewhere unusual.
- Remember that a verification badge records a document check, not a guarantee of conduct or teaching quality.
For tutors
- Keep first contact on a channel you are comfortable with, and share personal contact details only when you choose to.
- Confirm arrangements in writing, including fees and cancellation terms.
- Follow the safeguarding and background-check requirements that apply to teaching minors where you live and where you teach. These are your responsibility as an independent tutor.
- Report contact that is abusive, fraudulent, or inappropriate, and block senders you do not want to hear from.
Reporting a concern
Every tutor profile has a report link, and every inquiry can be reported from your dashboard. Reports about child safety, harassment, or fraud are prioritised. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
