Matric, the Secondary School Certificate, is examined in two parts: SSC Part I in Class 9 and SSC Part II in Class 10. Results decide admission to FSc, ICS and ICom programmes, so most families take Matric board exams very seriously. Students are examined by their board: the Punjab boards (Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala and others), the Federal Board (FBISE), the Board of Secondary Education Karachi and the other Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan boards.
Board papers reward complete, well-presented answers and practice with past papers and model papers from your board. A good Matric tutor covers the textbook thoroughly, drills numericals in physics and chemistry, and runs timed practice on objective (MCQ) and subjective sections in the final months.
Many tutors teach for several boards. Tell the tutor your board, such as BISE Lahore, FBISE or the Karachi board, so they use the right textbooks and past papers.
For Class 9, one tutor for physics, chemistry and maths often works. In Class 10, and for students aiming at high marks, separate subject specialists usually help more.
Both work. Home tuition suits students who need supervision, while online tuition gives access to stronger subject specialists and saves travel. Many families use one of each.
