O Level Islamiyat (2058)
O Level Islamiyat has two papers. Paper 1 covers selected Quranic passages, the history and importance of the Quran, the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the first Islamic community. Paper 2 covers Hadith and its history, the period of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and the Articles of Faith and Pillars of Islam.
Most students know the content but lose marks because their answers are descriptive rather than evaluative. The part (b) questions ask students to explain significance and relevance, and a tutor who practises this with past papers and marking schemes can make a large difference to the final grade.
Matric and FSc Islamiyat
Board Islamiyat covers Quranic verses and their translation, Hadith, the Seerah and Islamic teachings on worship, ethics and society. Tutors help with memorisation, translation and writing well-organised answers.
