Shabana Gilani

About Shabana

I am a native English speaker with a wealth of experience tutoring students from various backgrounds. I have experience teaching GCSE English, Biology and Chemistry and experience with year 6 SATs preparation. I have also tutored students in readiness for the 11 plus examination and helped others pass entrance school tests. I have 15 years' experience working as a Senior Scientist at a leading UK pharmaceutical company and 6 years tutoring experience. Coupled with my educational background at a leading London university, I have a strong base for enabling students to achieve their full potential.

Teaching approach

I tailor my classes to the ability of the student. Gifted students are challenged with advanced levels and students whose English is a second language, or who encounter difficulty in their learning journey will be taught using a more repetitive and simple approach. Progression to further topics will be made after the student has grasped the current topic thoroughly. I am friendly, relaxed and patient and have a bond with all of my students.
